Tom Jacobs, Executive Director for Summit Housing, was employed with Summit DD from 2003 through January 2017. His primary duties included development and construction of new facilities, property acquisition and overseeing operational needs and maintenance of all existing facilities. Summit Housing works closely with the Summit DD to provide affordable, accessible residential housing options for individuals with developmental disabilities.
Tom has held his State of Ohio real estate license since 1988, with millions of dollars in sales. He has experience in commercial leasing, sales and management and has owned over 200 apartments and managed over 1,000 residential properties and has owned and managed a 74 room hotel Holiday Inn Express.
Tom attended the University of Toledo where he majored in business.

Buck Buchanan, Construction and Property Supervisor for SHDC, has been with the corporation since its inception in 1992. During this period he has helped maintain, renovate and develop over 101 dwellings for people with disabilities that wish to live in a Summit Housing residential setting. Buck has also been very instrumental in acquiring grants for home modifications and vehicles for the staff, to better serve our tenants. Buck was previously the Operations Supervisor and Health and Safety Officer for the Summit County DD Board for over 25 years prior to working for SHDC.
EXECUTIVE ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT
Heather was hired with Summit DD as an Administrative Assistant in 2013 to assist the Director of Operations and Executive Director of Summit Housing with various administrative duties including property management, leasing, and inspections of all commercial and residential properties. As of February 2017, Heather transferred to exclusively working for Summit Housing Development Corporation as the Executive Administrative Assistant. She directly handles all the administrative functions in the office as well as completing and filing the information for grants proposals.
Heather is active with the Summit County Developmental Disabilities Board and most recently worked on their 2017 Levy Campaign as a Levy Coordinator.
Heather has been in the administration field for over 20 years. She was employed at The Village of Silver Lake as a Bookkeeper/Administration Clerk for over 17 years. She has also been employed at the City of Norton as the Payroll Administrator.
